I am guessing that the tranny fluid has leaked out of the lines up near the front of the engine........ How do I check the fluid in this thing?! There is no dip stick for it like every other automatic I have owned. PLEASE HELP! Am I just stupid????

ok so I pulled the "fill" plug and fluid came gushing out. Was that supposed to happen?
When checking Transmission fluid you ONLY pull the plug when in NUETRAL and Engine RUNNING !
If you check with engine OFF, fluid will pour out !
Now if you were in nuetral with engine running and pulled the fill plug and fluid gushed out then it means one of two things:
(1) Too much fluid in case (overfilled)
(2) Fluid way too hot to check

Not that I think this is the member in question...
Just gave the OK to my transmission shop for a rebuild for $2100. First significant repair on the car at 191,000 miles. Best car I've ever owned.
