    Vector W8 for sale

You NEVER see these things! This was my dream car as a kid (in black). Since I never figured out how to become a millionaire, I don't have one. But... my birthday is coming up... ehem.

It should say "minor leaks" somewhere in the auction page.

I would compare the Vector variation of "wedge" design more to the 1968 Alfa Romeo Carabano than that of the Countach.

The Vector is all-around more aggressive than the Countach... IMHO. It is definitely more funky & rare! I still love it.

Yeah, I wouldn't kick that thing outta bed, but I have always kinda been partial to the gen1 Lotus Espirit.

Another sleek wedge of the time period...and my favorite of the lot.

    And IMO...the Aston Martin Lagonda.....

....was one of the WORST 'wedge' designs of all time.

What is interesting is that both the Countach and the Carabo were designed by the same person who also designed the Countach's replacement the Diablo. Because Alfa never made the Carabo as a production vehicle a lot of the design elements are included in the Lambo that came out 6 years later. The Vector wasn't made until 22 years after the Carabo which speaks amazing things about its design, although I much prefer the vehicle that it was based off of.

You guys like some bubbly cars! Haha I'm not against classic bubble cars or anything but crisp angular lines have always grabbed me more. I had never heard of the Tipo before, pretty interesting.

It was an Oldsmobile transaxle: http://www.charlietranny.com/425THM.htm

I have a hard time understanding the claims of 240 mph... with a 3-speed. 0-60 in 4.2 seconds would have to be in a 1st gear pull. It says 625 bhp but there was evidently a way to increase the compression in order to free up a total of 1,200 bhp!!! That would have required racing fuel tho & I seriously doubt the transaxle could take that kind of power anyway. The Vector W8 was a super car for the gearhead & it is very much an interesting machine. Jay Leno should buy it, IMO, if only so it ends up in an episode of Leno's Garage!
