I would post a pic of my most recent purchase (NC700X), but you would all laugh, and I already feel bad enough about having bought it. My trusty CBR600F4 has been at the dealers for repairs since I bought the NC, and then it was to be sold on consignment to offset the cost of the NC. But, after 1000 miles on the NC700X, I'm thinking I will get my CBR600 back, and give the NC to my daughter. I just have to figure out the best way to transport it cross country (to San Diego, CA). The CBR repairs were supposed to be done last week (fuel pump replacement), but either the work did not get done (likely) or it did not fix the problem (also likely.) I just hate to be without a bike on those summer days that are too nice to pass.
In the meantime I have been modding the NC to make it more palatable. I first added a Yoshimura R77 exhaust to cover the noisy engine sounds. This past weekend I installed lowering links to being the seat height down to a reasonable height. I'm 5'11" and was on my toes when I stopped. This was partially due to having to prop the front of the seat up about 3/4" to level it and prevent sliding into the tank while riding! Poor design. I also have a slightly larger windscreen coming tomorrow, to reduce (I hope) wind buffeting.
In it's defense, I'm not in as much pain after a long(ish) ride, and I'm averaging over 70 mpg, so it's not all bad. My daughter will like that. I couldn't really care less about the mileage, after all I drive a VehiCROSS!! But, I miss the power and excitement of the CBR. I'm just not a cruiser type.
