    Magnetbra don't fit...???

    This ever happen to anybody?

....I ordered a new Magnetbra earlier this year, never put it on all summer. I also bought a "new" one from someone on here I think, just don't remember who.
I was getting the VX's ready for a photo shoot this weekend and wanted to put them on. The new one fit perfectly and looks freaking awesome. The other "new" one is literally 2 inches off, won't fit at all, too small.
What are the chances that it's defective?
(Maybe that's why it got sold to me in the first place)

I hadn't heard of anyone having that problem. What part is too short?

    I seem to recall

a post a long time ago when these first came out fit was an issue. They were a bit short and the owner had to heat them on on a warm day to get them to stretch to fit. Hey if you got two return the short one to the company for a refund

I have purchased two new and they both were fine.

Sounds like the new one you purchased that was older was part of that early run that was short.

I'd use a hairdryer and heat it as suggested above. I've done that to mine to get the edges to fold over easily.

Well, it was 95+ degrees the day we tried to put it on. The VX had been running hard that day...the hood was extremely hot. We actually bought a heat gun to use for that but there was not even a remote need to use it. It really is too short...I don't think any more heat than we already had and stretching would help. It's THAT short.
I'll just let it go, not a big deal really. I only paid $30 for that one. I was just wondering if there was a history with them being short, and it seems there is.

Tom, if I line it up correctly on one side, the little piece that goes between the grill and headlight on the other side is nearly in the grill. It's at least 2 inches off.

ALC1717, I think I've read in my previous research on the MagnetBra that you're supposed to take it off monthly or even more often than that for a good cleaning and refreshing. I'll make sure to keep an eye on it for sure. My prissy VX is in pretty mint condition...I'd be PISSED if that magnetbra messed up my hood!

Had the same issue with mine. Apparently, there was a first template that was too short that he used originally. The second template fits. I actually had to trim a bit off on some areas. Just contact owner and tell him about the situation. He's pretty good about getting the correct size for you. Hope that helps.

I think as long as you check it now and then and have a good coat of wax underneath before applying, you should be good. y older one left marks on my white hood and came off in pieces as the material seemed to fuse to the paint finish. No biggie as the residue can be removed with adhesive remover.

I put on a StoneGard 3 piece nose kit in 2001. Ten years later it had slight checking but was still clear and invisible. I had to have a pro put it on. This is the 3M product.

OK. I thought that you might be able to shift it downward towards the grill to get it to fit side to side & then trim the leading edge to fit.

X2 on contacting supplier. He's very good about getting it right. I ended up using a different method when I installed the trim piece & ran out before the job was done. He send me some extra to get'r done even though I told him not to (used a piece from the old one that was damaged in wreck).

Mine was also too short when I bought it new about 3 yrs ago. Like others have said, owner guy is really good, sent me a new one. He did say something about the template must be wrong...so hopefully new ones sold NOW are correct size.

I worked in the hot sun and with a hairdryer for a few hours trying to pull/stretch this one...but this and some burned fingers was all I got.

Yeah, that's almost as bad as mine. This particular one was bought from another member...he said he'd never used it. My other one that I bought from the company fit perfect...so yes, the template got fixed.
