    Oil pan leak

Yesterday I sold my primary car and was going to drive VX for a bit untill I find a replacement. This morning I woke up to this..
Here is what it looks like.

    What do I do?

Oil pan gasket shouldn't be difficult or $$$ to replace.

you might also try snugging up all the bolts equally. (Proper Torque is 96 ft in if you have a torque wrench). Spray it down with a cleaner and re check in a day. Also check fluid level and top up. correct procedure is on page 1328 of the workshop manual which you can download here.

Don't know if it is just my eyes, but in that 3rd photo the oil pan looks cracked.

I don't think the gasket would go that bad overnight. It would take months to develop.

Just on the off chance, check the transmission oil cooler lines.

Check the gear selector. There is an "O" ring that goes bad. It takes a special tool "4L30 gear selector O-ring removal and installation too" do not try to replace it without that tool.

OK smart arse. Lemme revise my suggestion:

Remove pan, clean off old RTV, schlep on new RTV, re-install pan.

    HAPPY????
