    GM HX Concept Lives Again

This one sorta died with Hummer back in the economic decline. Now it's back and being "strongly considered" for production. With the sales of the Ford Raptor, and the Wrangler still strong, I'd say they should go for it. Also there's a sweet Chevy Colorado off road show truck with a diesel.

But I am missing the open air concept of the off road vehicles.

But I figure that is more like a sunroof. With that high hood I would think looking out the front would be like using the rear view mirror in our VX. Have the doors removable and be able to put on a bikini top like an old wrangler and you got what I am talking about even flipping down the windshield would be fun

It will be another soccer mom mall crawler. It will not steal the Wranglers thunder due to a lack of a solid axle up front.

Yup, because anything with IFS is complete crap.

They say the 2017 Wrangler will be IFS. If so it will be easy to compete with the Wrangler. I see plenty of lifted, pretty, shiny JKs around Utah that never even seem to be taken off road so it is possible Jeep will go that route & still sell plenty. I personally hate that idea but would love it if the HX finally saw the light of day. Still... I would not buy either.

    I've heard that too...

BUT, it's clear Jeep is doing things right on the Wrangler side. In November, I was in Moab without the VX and we decided to rent a Jeep. It was a 2013 two door Rubicon with a small lift, 35s and had 15K miles almost all trail . We ran Hello Kitty Canyon and it was great all around. My ONLY complaints were the stock windows in the doors sit very high and the hood is long making it hard to see the trail around you.

There's no reason to change much on the new JK, maybe just a facelift. It's clear they have accommodated the 4 wheeling crowd and appealed to the highway, bling crowd. The solid axles make the Wrangler unique to all of the "other" options. I'm shocked another company doesn't was to compete more by building a competing rig with a front solid axle.

Not what I said at all...however most off roaders that drive jeeps do so because it has a solid front axle and an ifs vehicle will not draw them away.

...and don't get me wrong, I really have nothing against a well build IFS system. The reason why I chose to SAS the VX was I wanted to do a bit more and without real aftermarket support, I couldn't. My argument isn't against IFS, it's for a well designed on-road/off-road setup. Modifying a IFS setup for bigger tires seems to be harder than a solid front axle. Then again, I see plenty of Chevy 3/4 ton trucks riding on 37" tires.
