    help with Transmission Solenoid Kit

i just had my trany rebuilt and am having the same issue as before it was rebuilt. here is the story when the tranny was going it was having a bang and hard shift from 2-1 and 3-4 then car was smoking and didnt go anywhere so i had the tranny rebuilt, when i got it back from them car ran good but then started doing it again just the bang and hard shift, brought it back to tranny guy and was told its the shift selonids and that was not included in the 1500 rebuild job. Is this normal? i thought everything was rebuilt and replaced?

here is a question there are a few 4L30E Transmission Solenoid Kits, one has just a and b selonid and others have 5 parts. do i need all of them or just a and b ?
here is a link to a site that has 4 and sais you may need a epc selonid also http://www.electricaladvantage.net/4...lenoidkit.aspx

also this kit is for 1990-1999 , i have a 99 vx so this should be the right kit?

    thanks for the help

One question if I may... Are you doing the replacement or the shop? If the shop is doing it then I would only do the a and b solenoids as it would be cheaper due to labor costs. Drain, drop one pan, replace two solenoids , if no issues with the pull pins should take less than 30 minutes. If you replace all 5, they would have to drop both pans, then they would probably charge you for two gaskets also. Just my two cents.

Mechanic told me if I buy the parts and put them in for free so I guess in that case it would be better for me to buy all the solenoids. Just curious I know the A & B solenoid are for shifting do you know what the other solenoids do?

ok FYI if your having the same problems with your tranny and thihk its your selonids it may not be, i had mine replaces and had the same problem, took my car to a transmission specialist and told me i had a code for the MAP senosr and that may be causing this issue. I replaced the sensor and whala no more problems. very cheap simple fix.
