    2001 or 99??

I am going to buy a VX FINALLY. There are a couple here in town and I would like to know, if there are any significant changes between the 1999 and 2001? ie. Handling, cosmetics, additions, power... anything at all.

    Thanks

    Darrin

The differences are aluminum 16" wheels in '99, 18" chrome wheels in '00-'01; auto climate control in '00 - '01 vs. manual system in '99. There are also some warranty differences, but I'm not sure if there is really much difference if you are not the origianl owner.

I'd check the price and mileage of both. I decided to go with a 2001 because there was 15 months left on Isuzu's bumper to bumper warrenty. If you look at a 2001, check to see when the original owner bought the vehicle. There is a 3 year 36,000 mile warrenty. It might even be a 3 year/50,000 mile warrenty. GOOD LUCK AND AND BEST WISHES.

    Thanks very much

The 02 is an Ironman, 44,500 miles and they are asking 16,188. The 99 has 37,000 miles and thy are asking 13K +. I am going to pick one of these up tomorrow, so the more info to help with my decision.

Can you put 18" wheels on a 99... stock?

Yea, the 18s will swap out with the 16s. Other than what was mentioned previously, there really is no difference between the years. Guess it comes down to personal preference, color, and general condition between each.

*edit* just noticed the Ironman was a choice. Aside from the extra badging, there is no difference.

There are other subtle differences, for example Tone's interceptor generally needs different settings when installed on 1999 vs 2001 models.

after 2000 Isuzu have added additional colors. Compare manufacturers warranties on two vehicles if you plan to keep it as warranty is VERY important for vehicross (not a trouble free vehicle - same way as any other vehicle)

    When I was purchasing mine I had a choice between 99 and 2000 - I've saved about 1K and got '99... Now I wish I got 2000 - better warranty.
