Roof rack for JDM VX?

Hi All
Would anyone be able to recommend a good roof rack that would fit to a VX, such as Thule or equivalent.
Halfords in the UK are not helpful as the VX is not on their list, they can't help....

Just in case the USA owners aren't aware, the JDM has the same roof rails and uses the same crossbars as the USA models.
I think Thule used to make a VX basket, but discontinued some time ago.

Yep, worldwide, rails would be the same. I have a Thule basket now, but have been eyeing the Rhino Rack XTray.

Can you please get me the Thule references for the basket that is discontinued (PK) and the Thule basket that you currently have on your VX Gary?
That may help me get back to the UK supplier and get the right one as they are unwilling to help given the VX is not on their list...

The Thule basket that most have used, and is discontinued, is the Thule 696. If you browse my gallery you'll see the one that I had for my Dragon when I lived in CO.

There was 2 Thule baskets that fitted. From memory, the small one was 695 and the larger, 696. Both are discontinued.

That's correct. The 695 would not hold a full size spare for most that were using larger than OEM tire sizes.

I am in the middle of a move right now, but since I am considering the RhinoRack, I might be willing to let my Thule basket go. Though, it sounds like you are across the pond and shipping would be far more than what this thing is even worth now heh.

Oh jeez, sry, I am completely lost here. I actually have the Thule rail-wind deflector, but have a Yakima basket, haha. Damn, my bad. Old age caught up to me....

But there ya go. Yakima is another good alternative.

WormGod, many thanks, indeed if I was nearer I would buy your kit off you, but shipping costs may be prohibitive / not trivial?
Do you think you could please take a look at the reference of your Thule rail-wind deflector (that you use for the Yakima basket) if you could find that I would be very keen to see if I can try to cross-reference it with the Thule fittings available from the UK as I am sure there will be something they have that will fit the VX in a safe manner....

ok thanks, I now see what you mean by deflector...
I thought you meant that your basket was attached to a Thule set of rails fixed to the VX, but may be your Yakima basket is fixed to a Yakima set of bars & fixings? What I was after was the reference of the discontinued Thule roof rack and fittings they used to make for the VX to see if that old reference could be cross checked with existing products....

Ah, nope. I had my Yakima (has it's own sort of deflector built in) basket and Thule deflector attached to the OEM rails. Sry for any confusion.
