Need new alternator

Hi guys. I don't post here much, but here it goes. My VX needs a new alternator after 19 years. I've heard that our vehicle doesn't play well with cheapy alts. So the question is...
What is a good brand alternator to get for my VX? Are there new oem ones out there or good remanufactured ones? Thanks in advance.
