    More then 84,000 miles?

Alright, who's got the record miles here? I've used my VX for an everyday vehicle, although I have 3 others, since 2000... I bought a brand new 99 VX with only 1,000 miles on it a year old, so since sep of 2000 I have put 83,000 miles on it and it runs great. I am thinking of getting a new engine, full block in the next 25,000 miles or when it dies... from other threads I have already realized I need to save up my money cause this VX will be in my family for the rest of my life, and as its life ends, I will build another (pay someone to do it of course) for it!!! 9 lives baby!!!

Anyway, anyone clocked more miles then that? If I drive to the Moab meet, thats 5,000 round trip .... and I have made the trip to utah in 29 hours both times in December.... so it rocks cross country, minus the 10-13 mpg it gets

I know that there are a few VXers who have more than 110K on the clock. No problems .

This worries me. Why would 85K be an issue? I drove a Saab turbo 256K before selling it to a kid at the local high school and enjoyed seeing him passing me for several years. 85K should be a break in number for a reasonably maintained vehicle IMHO. Sheesh!

I concur.... Usually it is... I never thought my VX would have this many miles, I just love it so much that I always drive it. Actually, there was this thread talking about an engine problem and a handful of VX'rs had to replace the engine... I was worried with how many said they had the same problem, but then I was like, if we had 2000 of these in the US, and only a handful had bad engines... can't be that bad... Then Ithought, well lets see, maybe no one else has the problems cause they all have the VX as a second vehicle or don't drive it as much as those who fried their engines do....

But from ANita's reply, I am not that worried anymore!!!

I just went over 140,000 and am very satisfied with my '99 VX. I am about to replace the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner. I also finally got the dreaded #3 on my CD changer and am about to replace it with a "pocket" and switch to an MP-3 system.

I'm on my forth set of tires, burn about half a quart between oil changes (5000 mi).
    Happy Flying!

I wish mine would've made it that far. It didn't even make to half that, 62,000 and the engine failed. Fixed and now I have 65,000. It's a daily driver so I put a decent amout of miles on it.

Can't afford another ride right now. Hopefully next fall I will buy something else to drive everyday.

Are you saying that you have 219,000 miles on your VX??

Or did you have a mishap?

I doubt 219,000 miles are on a 2001 VX. He would have been eating, sleeping and driving a whole bunch in that box.

Cool... I guess mine is a little bit older than yours. They likely came off the same boat and rode the same truck to Florida.
