    water? leak? pipe? dash?

i noticed water is getting into my vx from the front dash...this only started happening after i installed a new head unit which required me to take off peice of the dash....might have accidentally pulled something....

i have no idea where the leak is...just know my carpet is warm but wet as hell....i tried to soak it up with a "BOUNTY" paper towel....used about 1/2 the roll and theres still more water....

I noticed (while doing a search myself) that you (or someone thinking of responding) did a search for wet carpet and the such.

    Take a look at this...

If you wet down the vehicle and use diluted car wash soap in a spray bottle you won't strip the wax.

Stick a couple paper towels in the underdash floor vents to check for ventilation system water or A/F leaks.

If you still can't find it, let me know and I'll post a long and drawn out method to find the leak that doesn't use powder. Powder is messier, but quicker. Be ready to pull your front interior.

I don't recall anyone posting about having success with the blower on-soapy water test, and I don't see how it could work in our vehicle without some modification. We have a rear vent that is always open. This would allow any air coming in to instantly go out without creating any sort of pressure at all. I suppose you could try duct tape over the vent panel, but air may find another path to the vent and you would never be sure if no exterior bubbles meant no leaks.

Make sure you actually see the water coming in. Once it gets inside, absorbtion, condensation and evaporation will work together to spread the dampness to all kinds of areas.
