I do not have my manual with me and I was wondering if anyone knows what the max speed for 4-L is?

The manual does not indicate a speed limitation for 4-L. I would venture to say you would not want to exceed 30-40 mph.
Chances are you may redline / rev limit after anything higher then that and it would not be to good for the gears.
4-L should only be used off road or really snowy conditions where you really need some bite from the front tires.
For all other low gears while in High:
L = 35 mph
2 = 65 mph
3 = 65 mph

Probably a bit high, but Scott (Moncha) has posted of going 50mph, which is still pretty quick for 4low.Originally posted by SPAZZ
I don't think you should be stupid enough to run 4low in 3rd gear at 65 mph
.
Several of us have done over 50 in Moab while in Lo but it is not recommended. In the ‘99 manual on page 2-21 it states the max recommended speed in L is 35MPH...
That page in the manual is referring to 4-High not 4-Low.
Should not be looking up data late at night when ill...anyway, I believe it is stated in the 4x4 manual that accompanied the owners manual and states 45MPH max but I could be wrong again...
When I excelerate, after shifting into 4x4 low, I notice the truck hesitate (i.e... I hit the gas, the engine revs, a delay, then the truck takes off) Is this normal? Might I be low on fluids?
