Death Valley Trail Report
After three years of nagging by my Jeep bud, Robert, I finally made the trip to DV. We flew from Seattle to Las Vegas where we picked up a rental Exploder. My buddy Robert was lucky enough to snag a more capable Jeep Liberty when he arrived a few days later on Xmas eve.
In Death Valley, the history is rich, the scenery is spectacular and the trails are beyond an Exploder's capability (running boards, 4-wheel ind. suspension, and open diffs!). After I had to be strapped off a little boulder that might have gotten stuck in my VX's tread, It was clear that the Ford was simply a 4WD station wagon. We ended up doing way more hiking (which was great) than 'wheeling. We had a great time, but next time I'll take a REAL rig. Are Isuzus available in any rental fleet?

The Exploder at the end of the trip. (OK, it's really a piece of history at Darwin Springs where we also found a pond in the middle of nowhere stocked with Koi)
