    ASA TRS Wheels

Has anyone used these wheels on their VX. I'm thinking of using the 17 inchers with Toyo 275-60-17's or maybe the Yokohama.
Any other good suggestions on wheels? I have a '99.

    Thanks!!

    Talking Get 20's!!

With your user name being TDUB, you gotta roll on the chrome-spinning, real-deal DUBS. That be 20's my friend!! You already knew that though, right?

    Check these out perhaps??

    Talking Awe come on guys??

There were some 20's there with tires & no spinners for $1650. Can't beat that price!! If you search on that same link they have any size wheel / tire combo for great prices. Just a suggestion.

    Later.....

17's seem like a weird size. Can't help but think it will become obsolete for truck tires. If your going to pay a premium for large tires go with 18 or 20".

You guys are some rich sons of beeotches!

If I was still in Texas, I'd buy the Teflon coated American Racing wheels and, instead of having a tail gate party, cook up some ribs on my wheels and have a rim party!

Plenty of tire choices for 17s, far more than 18"s+ since many trucks come with 17" stock rims and far better pricing on both rims and tires. If you just want show and little off road go, ante up the bucks for the 18+ wheels and the limited options for tires and have at it. 26"s are out and would fit if you're going that route...

    ASA TRS

Look in the gallery for most recent photos or search for ASA TRS. I've uploaded a few pics of my 2000 Proton with ASA TRS 16x8 that I have snow tires mounted on. Is this what you're looking for? I think they add to the "industrial" look of the VX. I went with 16 for a more sidewall and cheaper tire.

With the Bridgestone Winter Duelers DM-Z2 the VX launches straight and hard on nearly any snow/ice surface and it will stop straight and hard too. No hands, ABS invoked, panic stop is dead on, even with one wet track and one snowy one. To chicken to try full out rally corner slide.

    Hope this helps.

20" rims with certain tires so speedometer still reads properlly?

I saw a VX that has 20x9 KMC Thunder wheels and Falkien tires. The owner said the tires are the same diameter of the orginal wheels so his speedometer reads correctly.

I'm no tire expert and was wondering how this can be. So if I were to get 20x9 wheels, what kind of tires would I need to get so the diameter is still the same as the orginal? I love the look of 20" wheels, but do not want my speedometer to be incorrect.

I wish I understood this stuff better
