I joined a while back then my computer went k-poot so i got a new one and here i am! Better late than never. Ha Ha There are some really cool and informative people here with some of the most beautiful VX's i've ever seen.
Just goes 2 show that the imagination is limitless and the VX is an amazing canvas to work with. I spotted my first VX 2 yrs ago sitten at an automotive shop i about broke my neck & wrecked my car. I went back the next day and asked what the heck is that ? And i want it !!! Well the owner of that VX was out of Country.....go figure. As luck would have it I worked at a car dealrship at the time & had my boss dig one up for me so off to the auction we went. By 5 pm the evening ol' Black Betty was mine! wham balam ! I will never owen a car again. I'm glad i found you guy's looking forward to talking trucks, trading tips, and swapin mud. Red
Now I know who put that sub woofer hole in the back door!!!!
Yes the addiction was quick. I have been bored with Jeeps and this vehicle has the short wheelbase bulldog look I like. As for the Police interceptor the right front and rear quarterpanel reflectors are blackened, there are Police interceptor badges and the vehicle picked up 75,000 miles in the first 2 years of its life. I kind of think it is genuine except that it was registered to an individual. So my question is "do they sometimes register unmarked vehicles to individuals so that the plates are not marked to a municipality" If anyone knows the answer please respond. It pleases me somewhat to think that it may have received fleet maintenance. Chris.
How do you search the members to see who had it? Maybe someone had mine?

Put the last 4 digits of the VIN in the appropriate blank and then weed out the wrong years and wrong colors from the results screen.
(Sorry, it didn't look like it was possible to link to the results, but your VX is unique to the forum.)
Congratulations & welcome to Evansons32 & Ebenezr & Red (from another newbie.)

Be careful what you wish for. After looking up a previous owner of my 1999 Ironman that was registered here, I was dismayed to see he drove almost 9 mos. with a leaking intake gasket. Several folks mentioned it to him, but he was always content to throw more "carb clehaner" in the tank and take it back to his "mechanic". Same problem month after month. Just never would listen to the knowledge of the group.
Though this was before the shop manual was made available for downloading to all.
Oh well, the 5.3L CSB is already mounted, so I don't have to worry about those MIL errors popping up every couple of months and costing a couple hundred it time to make it go off.
true that. did you go with an iron or aluminum block?

Wow, CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome! Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky!
Iron - had a lot more of those available around here. And I found one with less than 60K on it, and the price was great. I will have to move the A/C compressor up top to keep it out of the mud. (Sorry for hi-jacking the thread. We now return to our regularly scheduled program...)
