Hello, I am looking really close at a vehicross and the more research I do the more I want one. I am a big into rallyx, stage rally, and Paris-Dakar style rally and the vehicross seems right up my alley.
Also I have a friend who drove one for several years before it started to give her "electrical problems?" And I guess started to shift a little hard from time to time. Now it sits in her parents yard with grass growing up around it.
I currently have a 1990 audi coupe quattro and a 98 Land Rover discovery. I am hoping to sell the discovery and throw them maybe $2000 to pick up this vx from them.
We will see how it goes as I know they are worth more then that. I think they just want it out of their yard though so maybe I can talk them into it. I understand it may need a new trans , but for that price I can put a new one in.
I'll try and get some pics up to let you guys take a look and see what you think. Oh its a 2000 dragon btw. Thanks!
Hard shifting if combined with the dash gear lights going crazy is usually an indicator of a bad trnsmission shift switch...a fairly common problem. Fairly cheap and easy to fix.

nice! then maybe I can get it back on the road and working correctly fairly quickly. If I can sell my discovery soon.
Finally got one. I bought a black 99 in Michigan. Paid $4,500 for it. It has 106k miles. I flew up and drove it 700 miles home to North Carolina. Idles high sometimes and cuts off when stopping sometimes. Love it, but the electric fan stopped working and I don't have a remote for it. Any ideas on why the fan stopped coming on? Thanks
I just got my new to me 99 Vehicross in April at a steal for $2800 with 66,000 miles. Had never seen or heard of it before. My favorite vehicle EVER! Have already had folks offer to buy it from me. Not on your life!!
^^^ damn crazy deal!!

Hi Vt Maverick,
I sure did, Nick was a gent and very helpful, no doubt I shall be being winched out of some muddy hole by him soon enough! I am looking fwd to that.
Apologies for delay in responding, we had a riot or two here in blighty and my work means I have had very little sleep for a week etc.

Hi all, I had a pretty crazy day yesterday. I took my 2005 Mazda 6S 5-door (a car I *loved*) in for two new engine mounts (my extended warranty just ran out), and while they were installing them I saw the VX in the used lot. I have looked at VXs before but never seriously thought about buying one...even though I loved the styling. Anyway, I test drove it, looked it over inside and out, and (insert clock moving quickly to show time passing) drove home with it a few hours later! I did a straight trade for my car plus a check in my pocket for a sizeable amount. The previous owner is a mechanic and it's obvious this was his baby. It drives like a dream, has zero issues except for the "slow window" on the driver side.
It is a 1999 with 137k miles on it. It has a Dragon cold air intake, custom exhaust (nice burbling growl), new battery, Alpine USB digital deck with subwoofer, obviously the tires and wheels are not stock, but the tires are new complete with the receipt for full coverage from Discount Tire.
[I can't seem to get the gallery popup to work other than putting a URL in my post, but I have 3 photos of her in my gallery]
Put about 50 miles on it today running errands. Other than the window it's just perfect. Can't wait to take this thing up in the foothills and mountains of Colorado!

As I said I had looked at VXs before, but there hadn't been one for sale within a reasonable distance. So yeah I knew what I was looking at on the lot there, and voila! It's in my garage now
Also, a $3.47 can of silicone lube totally fixed the driver side window slowness.
Got a mount for my cell phone, which has GPS/Nav, and also 14GB of music that the Alpine head unit plays. I am all set and very happy!
Now to make a cup holder....

Hey I'm new, name's Chase I have a 1999 VX. In the shop now getting timing belt done. Has a 3 in lift with 33's, performance exhaust to give it a growl, and a cold air intake. It's fun but I want to add more power to the motor and I want to get a new tranny since this ride has 145xxx miles and I'm not sure what the previous owners have done. Here's a pic! http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4789090_n.jpg
Hey guys... new to the VehiCross, not new to online forums... I am in the car repair industry and just came across a good deal on one of these guys... Mine is Kaiser Silver and has 120k on it... had a new motor at 80k, so hopefully all is well there...
I also have a 2001 Lexus IS300...
Seems like there is quite a bit of info here, maybe I can contribute as well...
