Auto start remote

Has anyone done an autostart remote? I was told I had to install an aftermarket alrm to do so, but I got the vibe I was getting hyped by the sales guy?? thanks

Tone is the only one I know of that has this on his VX. (Scared the heck out of me while I was standing next to it in Moab.) I would love to hear goods and bads for this extra though. It would be nice to warm up the engine before having to get in it.

You can add a stand alone remote start unit in addition to the stock ‘alarm’ or most all aftermarket quality alarms will let you incorporate that feature. My installer here does Autopage alarms with remote start for less than $500.

Compustar.org offers the one I am planning to have installed. Uses spread spectrum technology to extend the range from around a thousand feet to 1 1/4 mile. All the bells-n-whistles for 750 installed. They offer the standard 900mhz version for a couple hundred less ( range copares with other brands - like viper/autopage ) Good comments about this topic here CLICKME!

When I get time to LEAVE my VX with them for a couple days - I will not have to shiver to crank my ride. I am getting the remote start - alarm - remote rear door popper - windows roll up/down and sunroof control modules for around 900ish. Has remote page - meaning, someone can tap on your windshield - and you will be paged to your car. Different stages of impact would generate other - louder - responses. Remote vibrates or beeps. and it DOES fit on the keychain too.

I installed this on my VX when i got my viper alarm, Dont know what i would do without it, Great for warming up your car and when it snows just leave the defrost on with the heated mirrors on and little to clean off. In the summer just leave the A/C on and nice and cold when yo get in.

I have the model 1105 installed on my VX. It boasts about a 1/4 mile range and holds pretty true to form. I started my VX from my seats in Gillette Stadium the other night after watching the Patriots get spanked by the Jets.
