interesting... this seems to be a newer development of an old scam.. in the past the feds have cracked a few large groups of theives who actually set up atm's, but the "parasites" were all internal. theyd give small store owners great deals to let them install entire atm machines that looked and worked as normal, except that they also skimmed mag stripe data and pin codes.. when they restocked the machines with cash theyd also download the data and go make new cards out of it..
one group was netting almost a million dollars a day (they were on the west coast.)
this method seems much easier though, scarry stuff....
