They finally brought the car over to the states. I hear the Elise is very quick and agile. I would definately want one. Have the European market come up with some Kits to produce more power?
Oh yes
Mine is in the garage at the moment as it threw a conrod through the sump at 110mph. New head should see me get an extra 30bhp.
Adrian Newey McLaren F1 Technical director has a 300BHP version and there is the German Esthi which puts out 400bhp which is good for 200mph.
All in a 750kg car .....

Hello Sanjoyp...
Always a Lotus fan..seems we have the same tastes in mobiles..That Elise has perked my interests..had a Lotus Europa(1969) for years...till I broke it Rotten little engine but what fun to drive...very predictable with a low polar moment of inertia. Could make an average driver look good and a good driver look like Jimmy Clarke or Jochen Rindt. Unfortunately there was a saying at the garage where I had mine serviced which was, "The only Lotus that Colin Chapman every really put together well was the one's he pitched against his Formula One rivals". My Lotus was fun to drive but was, indeed a maintenance nightmare
The VX is not close to a Lotus in handling. It will get you the same looks from other drivers though. This car stops on a dime however (mph) 60-zero less than 40 meters, just wished it did that accelerating...The AWD gives an awsome grip of the road but transmits little feel for the road too....the auto trans negates any ability to control engine torque. About the only course the VX could stack up to your Elise is off road... and at speed which your beautiful car was never designed to do. The biggest downside to this car is the automatic transmision and limited rear view vision.
When you get a VX be sure to send me a pic with both cars side by side in your garage....That would sure be a sight to behold.
