Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers

Why don't they make the carbon fiber covers set to include the rest of the dark gray plastic of the mirror?(mirror base) Maybe it's just me but it looks like some thing is missing, I know they are all like that.

Then the mirror wouldnt fold.

Idealy, the whole housing should be molded and done in C/F, that way you couldn just replace the whole assembly with the C/F mirror. But, that may be some ways down the line. *shrug*
