Just getting a feel for opinnions.
Is it worth a cool $28,000 on up?
The interior looks pretty sweet....for a hybrid station-wagon.

my wife and I were thinking about this instead of a full-blown SUV, but we're going to wait until after she's out of school in december to buy anything. that should also be enough time for dodge to have found some of the bugs, too...
plus (in gruff, redneck voice), "it's got uh hemi!".
IIRC, the prices on the car range from $22,500 for the puny V-6 on up to $29,000 for the 390 HP Hemi SRT-8.
In my honest opinion, this is the value of the decade for this type of car (not that there's really another car like it that's been built this decade!)
It's no sports car, for sure, but 400 hp will get those 4000 pounds moving along at a nice pace.
Too bad we didn't have engine options like that for our VX'es
Steve
I'm thinkin' about one. Hemi AWD. With the low roof it's sort of dark inside and visability is limited (like VX!). It's pretty quick. But interior kind of "cheap" (guess that keeps the price down.) Let you know if I do one.
it sorta looks like the station wagon a harley rider would want to get if he had to. i wish they had never made a station wagon so these newer versions didn't come with the station wagon stigma.

I don't believe the Magnum wagon is available in AWD ........
.
(but then again I could be incorrect)
.
and espcecially for/at $29K ........... I would expect this vehicle to sell for 35K+ with a Hemi and AWD ......
.
...With Spunk I wouldn't buy it, but I don't hate it.
NAVIGATOR
actually ............ if you are near 30K ........ and then 35K ..........
.
go another 5K and get one of the neatest cars I have seen in a while ........
.
the Lotus Elise .....
It's actually 40k for the base model Elise... 45k w/ all options... 50k supercharged (they are expected to release the SC later this model year). I love the Elise, too, but it's a totally different car than the Magnum. It weighs half as much and has half the power. It is truly amazing to drive, though!Originally posted by t2p
35K... the Lotus Elise
yep ............ 40K for an Elise ...... looks good ......
.
it may even move the Acura NSX at 60K (when it was first introduced) down one on my list .........
.
.
of course I was in the 'apples and oranges' area ....... but cash is cash ! ........... and I could not resist ....... once you get near 40K ..... if you like to drive .... the Elise is *really* tempting ...........
not sure about the elise, had lots of dealings with the nsx and they are extremely fun to drive. But regardless next week on monster garage (i think if i am not mistaken) they are tearing apart a dodge magnum.
I have an inside scoop that in the near future they're gonna try to make a Lotus Esprit submarine like James Bond had.
that should be a fun one to watch
The Dodge Magnum is pretty tight in that dark grey or black. Almost looks like an old gangsta/mob car lowered and a chopped roof! It's not really for me but it is kinda cool. If you threw some spinners on there and some mirror tinted glass, it would be the ultimate drive by car! LOL
2001 Ironman Daily Driver... 3.5" suspension lift (OME912 springs and 1" spring spacer), ball joint flip, 1.5" front diff. drop, 33"x12.5 TrXus MT, 16x10 Eagle Alloy rims, Interceptor, PV muffler, K&N air filter, Alpine Supercharger, Bilstein shocks, and some trimming.
2000 Ironman Project LS-1 VX... very slow progress but someday....... ohhhhh someday......
You got it, next Monday to be exact.Originally posted by VehiP&J

I'm still in florida, seen a couple of Magnums and a whole lot of Chrysler 300s have yet to see VX. Can't wait to get back to my Honey, I miss her sooo much.
