    Please post pics....

I'm interested in seeing everyone's aftermaket or modified intakes, just curious on what people are doing out there.

    Thanks- Jay

    Now this is interesting....

I'm noticing, now please forgive my lack of terminolgy. From the intake tube, there is a intake line, on mine runs across and infront to the left side of the engine.
Yours, you have from what looks like going back through and out to the wheel well and a small filter on your engine.

What the purpose in that and why?

Inquiring minds would like to know.....

I know a lot of people say about heat soak and trying to get the cold air in from outside the vehicle, but does'nt that little filter defeat that purpose by sucking in hot engine heat?

Jay, it's a crank case breather filter. The crank case expels gasses through the hose back into the intake. The filter filters out the gases/oil. I just put a fuel filter on mine and plugged the hole in the intake.

I see Cyrk also has the coolant bypass as well, as I do. I also plugged the hose going out of the PCV valve, and put a fuel filter on the valve as well.

These are the ones I've made up. My next step will be a straight tube from the filter to the throttle body.

The coolant hoses that run into and out of the top of the intake manifold circulate coolant through the manifold for warm cold-engine starts. It heat up the manifold (circulating warm coolant through it) so the engine starts better on cold days... if you live in a wamrer climate you may consider bypassing the manifold by just taking both hoses off the top and adding a "barb" or fitting in between (joining both hoses together). Some say you can gain a little horsepower this way... I think I feel a difference, maybe not.

The crank case expels a little gas back into the intake, which goes back into the manifold and engine. Adding a filter keeps the gasses from going back in... whether it helps of hinders, I don't know. You'll hear both sides, but I think many agree it is just cleaner.

I might try the bypassing of the coolant, I'll talk it over with my shop guy...it's waaaay to hot here and that might help.

    Thanks- Jay
