Another great meet hosted by George and Carrie! It was certainly a treat to see Gil, Tim and Jennifer! Thanks for coming back ya'll!
Ask forgiveness, not permission.
A brief recap...
We ended up with 8 parked out front here in the sprawling vastlands that make up west Houston. Installed the skid plate & tow to Gil's ride and Larry needed a piece of rear cladding replaced. We headed down to the Kemah Boardwalk for dinner and general "hanging around".
Things that need to remembered on this one:
1. A VX owner traveling 2200 round trip miles just to see friends- and to get some items installed- simply amazing
2. Kudos to Tone for showing up despite having, what may of us
believed, was an illness close to walking pneumonia
3. Kudos to my wife for having medications to get Tone through
the day
4. Weasel..glad to meet you. Wish you could have hung around
a bit longer
5. Feeding & playing around with the Stingrays (yes- the fish) in
Kemah was worth every bit of the two bucks we paid to play
6. Dinner with friends on the waterfront---priceless
7. Kudos to my absent neighbor across the street. Little does he
know just how often we use his garage door opener and raid
his tools & supplies while he's out of town
8. Tone- can't thank you enough for the gift. It (the box) looks
great in the back deck. For those of you who have not had the
chance to purchase one of Tone's storage boxes you're
missing out. Great addition & quality. Get one if you have a
chance
9. Was good seeing Tim again & I promise I'll get this radio back
to you
10. Seeing the look on people's faces as 7 VX's traveled south
on the freeways. Honking horns & people waving
11. Finally (& most important) - You ladies always make the
events more enjoyable. Thanks
I'm glad you all made it out here. Cary, Sammi (The Littlest Dragon) and I thank you.

Kemah is a great place to hang out. I had a great time with all y'all Texans, and it was worth every minute of the drive! Meeting George & his wife and seeing the rest of you for the first time since Zu Zoo VI was awesome! It really is a laugh riot being around you folks. The whole weekend went well until heading back from Houston to Dallas on Sunday. A piece of debris was thrown up from the highway & put a dent & some scratches right at the leading edge of the hood of my VehiCROSS.
I look at it this way... if that's ALL that went wrong (just a little cosmetic blemish), I can't seat it too much. It blows, but could've been something worse. Hey Tim... is that how you got your hood mod?
My top 10:
1) My rear cladding hasn't fallen off yet...
2) nor did it burst into flames...
3) I hope you can say the same about your garage George!
4) Feeding Stingrays was wicked cool.
5) It's @ 20 degrees cooler up here...
6) and might drop into the upper thirties tonight!
7) Texas' spaghetti interstate exchanges are insane...
8) but also wicked cool!
9) Next time, get that police escort...
10) and next time we get George on the rides at Kemah!
Thanks Jay for the hospitality Friday night and guiding me around Texas. Thanks George & Carrie for opening your home (& garage) to us. Thanks to Tone for being so knowledgable, skilled, and generous even while under the weather.
Thanks to everybody that helped mod my VX.
Lastly... thanks Lisa & Tim for the birthday drinks!!! JAGER!

Seemed like a great time!.. Is that a Front hidden winch design on one of the white lifted VX's? Is that aftermarket or are there instructions posted?
Assimilate this .........
The winch is on Jay's VX. He will know the details. Jay?
It's a Warn M8000 custom mounted by an off-road shop here in Lewisville. Unique Concepts is the name of the shop. I asked him to draw up a set of plans while doing the build, but he didn't have the time with several big projects going on at the time. He primarily works on Jeeps (law of averages) but has done work on several local Isuzus.
Found out the repairs to my VX's hood will run @ $350. Tone gets his cash first, and then Salem for Halloween, and then the fix before Winter. Then the HID kit, then the...
Gill, take care of your hood first - we can’t have you driving a damaged baby! I’m fine until after Halloween - can you send me a pic of the damage? You might be able to do some of the prep work yourself and save a bunch of money. Having done the console mod, the final sanding is where you need a professional but the filling and initial stuff can be done by most anyone.
It really was great seeing you and having us all together again and yes, the stingrays WERE wicked cool, but I still don’t want to put no slimy fishies in their mouths!

I'll second this. I have one of the large boxes that you use if you don't have a back seat, and I don't know how I lived without it.Originally posted by geshaw30

I'm not too worried about it. I'll see you at the next meet. If I had too, I guess I could just call the cops or something.Originally posted by geshaw30

Where is that smiley I'm looking for. I think it was called :finger: or something like that.Originally posted by nocturnalVX

You drove 1100 miles one way just to hang out with us. The least we could do was buy you a drink. It was good to see you again.Originally posted by nocturnalVX
Lastly... thanks Lisa & Tim for the birthday drinks!!! JAGER!
