    Maintenance

My VX is about to hit 40K. What kind of maintenance to I need to have done at this point to keep it in optimum shape?

    Thanks for your help!

You should change the transmission w/ new filter, transfer case, and differential fluids. Grease zerks for driveline and repack wheel bearings. Other then that change your engine oil regularly.

I had 30K done today...regarding the transmission...the dealer said it is no longer needed to replace the filter. The backflush method is the accepted method now and the same filter is good to go. I had the inner seals replaced while doing the wheel bearing repack...I thought that was standard but they said no...I believe it was an additional $15 per wheel.

    Erm.

    Bull****-o-meter going off here.

It is very important to change the filter.

Don't you have to drop the tranny to change that filter?
