    Nitto Grapper Size?

Terra Grapplers are avail in Two sizes
    255-55-18 and 285-60-18

I want to know what size I should get
Are they good in the snow?

    Any Comments?

I have 60/18's and love the look... check my gallery for pix

As far as snow, they are ok but have a hard rubber because of big tread blocks so not optimal for snow.. they seem to load up with snow and can get a little slippery.. Nothing like my bald factory tires though. a good snow tire has a lot of siping and soft rubber so if you plan to do a lot of driving in the snow I would recommend getting snow tires for the season.

I have the 285's and they are great tires. Really fill out the wheelwells and have done well with everything I have given them - sand, rocks & snow. I would caution you that the wide tire is a bit scary in icy conditions and it really likes to track in road grooves.

If I get the 285's and trim the front cladding,
am I going to have any other problems?
    Without lifting my truck.
Like hitting top of wheel well or alot more
were and tear on front end?
Is $800 installed a good price? for the 285's
Can get the 255's installed for $660

    THANKS STEVE

No problems here 285/60/18s. I've been off-roading with them and had NO clearance problems at all (just the minor trim on the front). They did a great job, only got stuck once in a nasty mud hole where I bottomed out. I have a picture of the "other side" of this shot if you want to see how they have plenty of room even inside the wheel well.

For you guys with STOCK wheels and the 285/60/18's-How far do the tires stick out from the wheelwell?

Not much at all. It is nearly even with the wheelwell. Not a great pic, but you can see here they don't stick out much at all.

Man ,when they rolled out those tires I didn't think they
would fit. Got one of front tires on for a test fit. No problem!
Looks like it should of came with those tires! Fill out the
wheel wells, and from the back and front they look wide.
VX looks like I need to find some mud.

    Raz,

Be sure and go with a buddy mudding. I think these tires did a good job, but I got stuck in what I felt I should have been able to get through. They did real good climbing dry steep loose hills, haven't had them on rock yet. Of course my friend with the jeep laughed at me when I got stuck... his time to get stuck and have me strap him out came soon after so the lesson learned is that you just never know how deep or thick the mud hole is until it is too late.

    Thanks good advice,
Hey what air pressure do you have in your tires?
    I got mine at 36#'s
I still can't get over how good they look!

I think the stock rims are 7''

I run mine at max psi, I think 44. I like to run high and watch for wear and adjust accordingly.

These tires are really hard and seem to be wearing quite well.

    Hi all,

I'm just worried, Some of you guys went for the 285mm where as the rim is only 7" or ~178mm.

The rim width of 285mm is a about ~11" The question is is it safe? It's about 4" difference. Any one know what is the safety limit here? I really do want to go for the 285 but a but worried.

I currently have the 16" rim.

    Thanks

Anyone notice a difference in gas mileage with these tires?
