    Rally

Anyone ever done a road rally? Not the 80 mph. blast down a dirt road, rally ; The part scavenger hunt, part navagational puzzle, all legal type rally. A church group in Pa. used to organize one every summer. They'd map, time, and make up all the clues to the route and its check points. Lots of fun really. There are enough of us down here to put something like this together. Just a thought.

There's one in November in central Fla. A couple VXers were planning on going.

What you're describing is called a TSD Rallye. Unfortunately, and I DO mean unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much interest in them anymore.

Back in the '70s , I was president of a sports car club in Columbus, Ohio which staged TSD rallye's several times a month. At that time there were either one or two other clubs in the area who were involved in the sport as well.

Would love to see a TSD club get started again. Those were great times for me.

    Thumbs up

We've got a very active TSD rally club here in Florida and they're having a 150 mile TSD event on November 6th that starts and finishes in Kissimmee. Entry is $25 per car and half the route is unpaved, perfect VX turf.

Nov.6? Hmmmm. Love to, but it ain't gonna work. I'll have to contact these guys and see when they will do it again. Did one 25 years ago, in a drop top VW whose pass. door would'nt latch. The rider had to hang onto the door sill and lean into every left we made, the whole 200 or so miles. Really great "auto" memories. I've wanted to do it again ever since.

I'd be willing to write one if there were enough interest. There is certain ancilliary equipment we'd need to come up with as well. Not to mention insurance (this is what finally broke the back of all the clubs in OH that I mentioned .)

But...as far flung as we all are....not sure there is a point to it.

    Pity!

Are there any of the NorthEast VXers who would be interested in running a road rallye through the boonies of Vermont in the Spring???? Log on to my website and E-mail me if you are.
