Sounds like an interesting tweak....might be interested in doing that myself. What about the mount is different?

Our mount is specific - as far as I have been able to determine - only Isuzu mirrors fit the mount. Had to graft a more standard US mount on there to get the autodim mirror from an Envoy to fit, bought it off eBay for $25.

To remove the factory mirror, you grasp the base and twist it counter clockwise, this unsnaps it from the windshield mount. It may seem like it is going to break - but don't worry, it will not. Installation is just the reverse.Originally posted by james1_10018

Yes, the mounting post is there as well. The only thing I do not have is the part that is glued to the windshield.

You don't need any assistance. Just JB Weld a new mirror mount over the old one (Thank you TONE for that idea!), run the wires, and hang it.
