i am planing to have the 18'' rims replace the stock ones, and my question is by doing this, do i have to change the tires too? or the original tires are able to fit in the 18'' rims?

Last time I checked....Uhm let's see....the answer would be...
a BIG FAT....YES
I've been tempted to go the 18" route myself on my '99 since it looks so much better but I had to put it on hold because of the expense(and then I'd be stuck with a set of wheels and tires to sell on E-Bay)
Flip a coin...you'll do it ! John
Since you both are running '99's and the stock rim size is 16" on that model the answer would be a NO. If you move up to an 18" rim you will have to get new tires as well.
18" rims require 18" tires.
Why does it seem like everybody wants to switch to 18"? The stock 16's look great with a 33" tire. It gives it a more meatier look. Bigger rims give it a little more bling bling look...but 16's make it look tough (with a bigger tire).
Just my little ol' opinion...that's all.
I too used to be partial to the 16" rims (mostly because that's what I've got), but I have to admit that I've been admiring the 18's lately. I'm seriously considering a set of 18's when it comes time to replace my current set of Nitto Grapplers. Of course I'll need to buy 5, as I've got a full size spare. Doh!
