    Infinity Perfect 12" VQ ?

Hey - just curious. Right now I'm running a 10" solobaric in my fiberglass spare enclosure. Sounds good - no worries there - but I'd sure like a little more 'low end'. Sooo....

I started looking around for a 12inch sub that has good reviews in VERY small sealed enclosures (seeing as the spare tire enclosure has roughly .6 cf.)

I came across the Infinity Perfect VQ 12. Specs say it's good down to a .4 cf. box!! So my question is: has anybody on this board used/installed this particular sub? If so, thoughts/feelings?

    Thanks in advance!

I have done a lot of research and the VQ or the 12.1d are what I would want. I have a freind who bought a 12.1d, I haven't heard it but he absolutely loves it.

this speaker has a 6.5" mounting depth. so unless you lose the spare or have the sub stick out 2" it will not work!! shawn

    mounting depth...

The fiberglass enclosure I created to fit into my spare has a mounting depth of 6.65" - a VERY TIGHT FIT for sure. I figured with a small circle spacer I could add another 1/4 to 1/2 inch to that. It would stick out, but not that much - again, just by the amount of the spacer I'd use.

AlaskaVX - by any chance is your friends 12.1 installed in a VX?

(p.s. - I seem to have started this thread in the wrong area 'meetings'. anybody know how to recategorize this thread?)

I'm just curious if the .6 cu. ft air space is the gross space or what... your space should be after subwoofer displacement... the Infinity sub is quite a bit bigger than the solobaric so you have to figure for lost enclosure air space... no doubt that putting a 12" in there in place of a 10" will increase your output but by how much is big question. What kind of bass are you looking for anyway? You should get a pretty decent output with snappy, tight bass but wouldn't expect a lot of deep, boomy bass... but who knows, maybe thats what your lookin for.
