    Biggest Gnarlyest tires

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the largest tires I could fit on my 16' Stock rims with no lift kit? I'm going for a rougher of road look. I'm rying to find some big tires and maybe with some sidewall tread.
I just smoked an eclipse with my SUV!

The Search Function on this site will help you alot on this topic but here's my .02 from reading a bunch about this:

Without doing a lift I believe the largest diameter tire you can use is 31", this still might require a little trimming on the front cladding but that's easy. Nitto makes the Mud Grappler which is probably one of the gnarlyest tires I've seen with sidewall tread.(swampers are cool too but very heavy and will suck the performence outta your VX real quick). Hope this helps.

On a related note: Can we do 32" tires with just the torsion bar crank and ball-joint flip or do we need the rear lift springs too?

Bridgestone Dueler M/T D673 265/75/16 without any lift and a small amount of trimming in the front. See my gallery (Idaho03) those are slightly modified Rodeo wheels.

these are the sizes I run. 32 X 12.5 16 for winter, 275/55/20 for spring and fall, 305/30/22 for summer. I had to trim for all of them to fit

First of, welcome to the board.
Second remeber that any change in diameter of your tire will throw off your speedo. And yes, the biggest diameter you can get away with just a minor trimming to the front cladding is 31".
Third, there is going to be a meet in two weeks so if you want to talk about tires and see what off road is all about come along. I guarante you you'll have great time

I had 255-70 Geolander AT+II's on stock 16" rims for a few years... I loved them! Best tire I ever had. They were great on dirt and actually great on pavement... even in the wet stuff they stuck like glue.

The Rodeo is needing some tires VERY soon, and I plan on buying the Geo AT+II's again for this vehicle.

Yeah but what about a 75? I put some 245 75 16's next to my Vehicross and it looked like it would fit fine.

31" on stock rims will be close, 31" on an aftermarket rim requires cranking the Tbars and cutting front and probably back of the wheelwell.
