    New Shoes Nitto Terra Grapplers

Sorry it took so long to find good weather to wash and clean my VX up so to show off its new shoes!!

I put the Nitto Terra Grapplers 285 60 18 on to the stock rims with no problems. They fill the wheel wells up so well and look so good that you'd think they would have been the original size!

Please visit my gallery to see my pictures

If you look at my first pictures you can see the VX when I bought it with the stock shoes!

YES...I know somehow I uploaded these pics twice!!

    Smile another happy Nitto owner

Yes I do believe that adding these tires is the easiest way to make the Vehicross look better, if that is possible.

If you choose to upload photos to a specific category, i.e. Modifications, Action Shots, etc.. You do not need to upload to your "Member's Gallery" as they will show there also as a default, thus showing twice with only one upload.

Congrats on the new shoes, nice move, great looks and they will not dissapoint you in the dirt. One small drawback I have noticed; a little less torque (humpf) on accelaration and a little loss in MPG.
From Unimog to VX - a serious change in velocity - a small sacrifice in voracity.

David - looks great!! Ilike hte side-by-side before & after shot, it really emphasizes the difference this change makes. I went to Pirelli Scopions of a similar size and the change is even more dramatic in person. I have since seen one in person with the original tires, and they really look out of place withthose small tires!! The skid plate looks great also! Kepp on moddin'!!

They look good. I am in the market for new tires and you just made my decision REAL easy.

I don't know where anyone else has gotten their Terra Grapplers, but thought I'd post up a linky... when I purchased mine, I had shopped around town, but nobody carried them or would/could even order them... not even the dealers that sold Nitto... go figure... anyway, seems Discount Tire Direct has the best prices... get'm... you won't be dissappointed!

I feel your joy! I just put the same tire and size on my VX a few weeks ago. I love 'em - it's like getting a brand new VehiCROSS.

I love that before&after composite shot! Who would have ever suspected that tires, an inch bigger, could beef up the entire vehicle like that? Your mistake/trick of photography is truly exaggerating the actual effect of getting Nittos. I love them and can't believe there are a couple of people where I work that still have stock tires after seeing my TerraGrapplers.

And for the 'stock design' people on this board, the Bridgestones weren't part of the design... they were a compromise based on many different criteria that most enthusiasts don't value as much as the marketing people do. I have some pictures of the Nittos on my site too if anyone wants to see more...

Mine (P Zero Scorpion's 285/55/18) are a little stiffer than stock - which I like. I'm running 40 psi, so they might not be as harsh with lower air pressure. The sidewall says they are rated for 55psi. As far as weight, I haven't really noticed any difference in get-up-and-go, but they are much more sticky in the corners!
