Ask forgiveness, not permission.
Yaaah Nice,
Me like too, especially retro/spartan int. w/ plenty of OH $H1T handles. Also, interesting tread pattern on tires.
Check out the Toyo site on it.

One report says available with a standard 6 speed tranny in 4WD version.
Its going to be interesting to see if they can truely price it "affordable".
"The FJ Cruiser will deliver true off-road ruggedness, image and performance at a very low price, making it highly accessible for a large volume of young buyers."
I likey too!
VX's don't need no stinking mod's.
But they're sure fun!
yeah, there is a little blurb on it in my newest 4wheeler magazine I just got in the mail, said there would be more on it in next months magazine!
That looks a lot more do-able than the concept that I saw at the NY auto show in 2003. I like it. I'm also a fan of the (potential) Gladiator.
Do yourself a favor and DON'T watch the unveil video though. "freedom trucks" hhrumph...
Initially they had a different FJ coming out, may have been the one mentioned by mbeach and I thought that one was way cooler. If I can find the pic I'll post. We have a 1975 FJ and it's a four wheelin machine it will be hard pressed to replace it!
I just read in my new Four Wheeler magazine that Toyota anounced they will be putting this vehicle into production! Yippee
FJ Cruiser
We just took a look at the FJ Cruiser in Torrance California and Im signing up to get one. P.S. I work for Toyota Financial in AZ.... I hope I can get a good deal. But Im not looking to get rid of my VX... HELL NO!
Hey it has 4 cup holders!
Can you get lockers on it from the factory?

I really like it. I like it for the same reasons I like the VX. It has a unique look that's all its own, and it's capable of doing what an SUV should be able to do. If SUVs were people, I think most of them would be metrosexuals. The FJ Cruiser (like the VehiCross) doesn't look like a metrosexual SUV.Originally Posted by VCAMILO
I know lots of people are going to think it's ugly, but I think it's gorgeous. I'm seriously thinking about getting one of these, but I haven't really seen it in person yet. There's also no official word on the pricing either. They're releasing it as a 2007 model in Feb 2006. I can't wait.
Check out these sites for more photos of the production model.

They are going to make way too many of these for me to want one after all! Sharp looking still and capable.

I think it's great - it's funny how the description of rear visibility and getting into the back seats mimics the VX reviews from years past.

"Metaphors be with you"
We're actually heading over to the Toyota dealership today to talk about trading the Dragon for a Tacoma SuperCab.
I'll look for some literature on the FJ -I'd like to find one of these next year.
I am bothered about the fact that it comes in a 2wd only model. To me that makes it kind of a traitor to the FJ concept.
