Biggest Tires for 16 inch Rims

I've done the rear setup, (OEM 912 springs) and the front too (torsion bars). Now I need a little help with the tires! Can yall help me? I want a beefy all terrain tire. Also what's the biggest tire I can get with the stock 16 inch rim? Thanks

I have 286/75/16 with 912 spring and front torqued up.

From what I can see, they are the biggest you can fit with doing only minor front trimming. Any bigger and you would have to cut the back (on front) wheelwell and the front(on back) wheelwell.

I have LESS than a 1/4 inch (when going straight) and 1/8 inch (when I turns) clearance.

I have pics in my gallery

With a little narrower tire you can go a little taller. 10.5 or 11.5's will allow you to stuff 32's in there with little trimming. I will be puting 33x12.5 15's on mine in a few weeks (just on time for Moab) and will see how much trimming I'll have to do (which I will post before and after pics). I am currently running 31x10.5 16's (on stock rims) with plenty of room.

The front edge of the front cladding. When you turn your wheels, look at the cladding, from the wheel well looking forward, the cladding (Plastic) that is closest to the tire may need to be trimmed for clearence.
    For example:

And most importantly rim offset - what will fit and clear on a stock 16" rim will change noticeably when going to an aftermarket 16" which automatically will have less backspace and push the tire/wheel combo out from the wheel mount.

The only minor thing I can think of, other than what has been said already, is the extra weight and footprint which can decrease your mpg noticeably. And depending on your sidewall height, it will change your speedometer readings. I just got pulled over for doing 58 in a 35 zone thinking I was doing 45 or so. Big difference with a cop itching to snag any catchy looking truck weaving through traffic during rush hour. Fortunately, he didn't issue me a ticket, as I was expecting him to, and just told me to slow it down a bit. I think it was his excuse to check out the VX up close and personal which was cool with me.
