    Thumbs up Trans. Interceptor

Finally got my trans. intrcptr installed last night & my initial impressions are great. Nice firm kick in the butt from one "gear" to the next. Also many thanks to Tone, don't know how, or if ,I would ever have found the correct plug on the tranny w/o his help. At least it was easier to manipulate than the "other" (read wrong) plug I disconnected.
As aftermkt products go, I'll say two thumbs up!

    What settings did you use?
How did you tie up the unit?

Every tranny and driver will be different to some degree. Start with 100% TC delay and no more than 25% line pressure increase. Pay close attention to directions as the 2 pots turn in opposite directions for increase. Use the included tie wraps to attach the Interceptor to the wiring harness that runs down by the shift linkage - double check that it is away from the hot exhaust components.

'02s changed the tranny connectors for some reason - sorry. But the Recalibrator will work to correct speedo and ABS calculations due to different tire sizes.

    Unhappy Tran Interceptor OK

I used the interceptor for a couple years worked fine.....finally had it removed during tranny maintenance....

One thing I noticed was that it lowered the rev limiter kick-in point so frequently when punching for high acceleration the drive would decouple

Since I had it removed, not a problem for the same set of conditions...

Its possible my settings were wacked out somewhat

It was working as designed but if it downshifts too easily for you, then lower the line pressure.

I have girlish little hands and that required some contorting... Don't know how you guys were able to do it...

Yeah, that plug location is a real PITA to get to.
I can't remember how many trips under there it took just to FIND the proper connection...MAJOR pain.

    Unhappy

I tried a MOD to extend the cables 6 feet on both ends so I could put in my lap as I drove around to test various settings - then stuff it under the hood next to the brake booster when done.

Unfortunately, what I found was that even at lowest pressure, I still got a major amount of kicking. I'm not sure if it screwed up the communication with the longer cables - or my '01 doesn't like the interceptor.

I've just been way to busy to shorten the cables back to 6 inches and see if it still kicks... Maybe this summer...

Oh, and in the pic you can see I added some molex type connections so I can take out the interceptor and just have a straight through wiring. Leaving the 12 feet of extended wiring in place without the interceptor inline, the car ran fine - no issues. ??

I'm going to turn my interceptor line pressure down... it's at ~25% now and it's rough as hell... Very surprised... some people say they run 50%

I hope at ~12% mine is more crisp...

    We'll see...
