Question Wheel Alignment causing engine trouble question

I was having trouble with my VX a couple of times where it was kind of hesitating and another time where the engine light came on and it promptly died. My local dealer Century Buick Isuzu both times told me that the problem was caused due to a design problem with the VXs having to have the wheels within a fraction of each other in alignment. That this was something that Isuzu told them. Suggestion was to keep tires rotated and aligned often. The first time I thought he was full of caca and ignored him then a year later is when my engine died. They diagnosed the same problem causing the engine trouble. So I have kept my tires aligned and rotated with each oil change and so far no more trouble.

Question is - has anyone else heard about this or is this dealership full of caca as I suspect?

    THX!!!

Sounds like crap to me. More likely they knocked some of the debris from the fuel filter....

has to be BS . i have 69,000 miles and never had an alignment.also have about 40,000 miles on my tires and never been rotated.you can see the difference in the tread from the front and rear tires.and mine does not stall. shawn

Personally, I'd have them check the muffler bearings - I f you've got a bad muffler bearing (or heaven forbid - two!) it can cause all kinds of ugly problems!

Wheel alignment and rotation / rebalaning of tires is a big part of long life for the tires and to avoid having the fronts get shorter than the rear (due to scuffing in turns) and then causing TOD fluctuations. Firestone has a lifetime alignment deal for a little more than the cost of a single one and is well worth it since you can knock out your alignment leaving the place! Hitting curbs hard while parking can tweak alignment and most VXs wear out the inside treads of the front tires if not aligned and run with proper air pressure.

As for the dying, the code would be helpful in diagnosing.

    Talking

    NO WAY RAQUE,
When stalling is involved, it's almost ALWAYS the fault of deionized blinker fluid!

low air pressure causes inside and outside to wear.no uneven wear as far as inside and outside.and no tod fluctuations. and never had an ailignment. i must be on the other end of the spectrum again. shawn
