    Question VX 3.1L Petol Consumption

    Hi,
I have a '98 Japanese V-Cross (red) that has done 70km and is in great condition, going exceptionally well. Only problem is petrol consumption, I get about 6km per liter (round 14 miles per US Gal). I thought this is a bit much for a light SUV that has good aerodynamics. Are there any mods out there to improve this ? Also interested in fitting a manual gearbox replacing the existing auto, any ideas ?

    Cheers....

    BigDave,
There's nothing light about our VX. I think it weighs almost 4000 lbs.

I'm not sure if there is anything you can do to up your mileage. I get about 330 miles to the tank or about 16 mpg (that's city and highway driving). I think that's about average for our VX.

    Peace.
    Tom

Hey also have the JDM doin consistent round town with a bit of h'way seems 510 - 540kms fuel light comes on and then put 74 to 77 liters, I haven't tried our best 98 octane unleaded which should give further improvement..but that seems reasonable compared to a 3L V6 3 door pajero auto that we had, except that VX is more peppie in acceleration etcetc..I'm interested in taking the VX for a good h'way run at 100kph to see if any improvement...but so far so good ..I was expecting worse, so we're happy
PS our kms are 62500 on the clock
