Arrow Now there's some good news!

I found a magnetic drain plug at my local parts store recently (Dorman-Oiltite # M14-1.50/pn 65216) and installed it about 1200 mi. ago. Well today I changed my oil and there wasn't even metal dust on it!
I was expecting at least a little something...call me pleasantly suprised.

themetal that wears in the engine isn't ferrous, its the bearings. They are copper, and babbit metal mostly. The only way to detect the wear other than by teardown is an oil analysis.
