Yet Another Nitto Terra Grappler Question

No I am not going to ask if 285 60 18s will fit because I read that they would. My question is, what kind of road noise and wear mileage are you getting? I love the look of the grapplers but I dont want to spend $175 each if the are going to wear out quickly. Thanks

    nittos...

    Hey there...

I didn't notice any added road noise with the tires, and still haven't.

Tread wear? I've had them for 10k miles now since May (I drive a ton, tis true...) and haven't noticed much wear at all...

They're simply the best thing I've done for the VX since I got it.

    ?????

    Biju,
I'm not in the market yet, but if I was I might get some Nittos for my next shoes. I was really impressed with how they looked your VX in Moab.

I did want to ask you if you noticed a big difference in you gas consumption since putting on the Nittos?

    Peace.

I totally love my Nittos. I haven't noticed any real road noise, but then again, I kinda like the sound of off road tires. I had the Pirelli Scorpions previously and these are maybe a tiny little bit louder.

I haven't had them for more than 10000 miles yet either. But, so far, no noticeable wear problems.

I haven't noticed any change in gas mileage.

Haven't really noticed a huge difference in gas consumption really... I mean, maybe 10-20 miles less an entire tank? I dunno - that's just a really rough estimate...

In other words, if there is less mileage per gallon as a result of the tires it hasn't been that noticeable.

    MOAB!

p.s. tom: i think i still owe you four dollars or so from Moab this year...

As soon as I wear my AVS's out I'm RUNNING to get a set of these!! I love the way the look on the VX as they fill the wheel well and still fit the stock rim..

Little to no noise at all and with a treadwear rating of 500 you can't go wrong. I would shop around though, $175 seems a little high since my 305 70's only cost me $115 a tire.

Bill are those the Terra Grappler AT's?? Discount Tire is showing a plain Terra Grappler that has the same ratings as the AT but shows a 255/55/18 which is the same size as my AVS's (For those who don't want to have major changes in speedo)..

    The TG 255/55R-18 109S BLK = 165.00 in Colorado
    the TG/AT 285/60R-18 RN 120S B = 183.99 in Colorado

Here's the low down on size differences for 2000-2001's:

    tread wear is great!

I've had mine on for just over 10,000 miles and they look awesome. No additional noticable noise for me, but I do have a PV2, and gas mileage is about the same for me.

I just don't think you can go wrong with the Grapplers. You can see some pics in my gallery too.
