VX : CLOSEST THING TO A CONCEPT CAR!
gl getting tat motor, i believe tats a 26b, straight out of a 787b.
Getting engines is easy, it's whole cars that are tricky. The Mazda 20B (3-rotor) has been available for years as a crate engine out of Australia for around $4K, mostly being used by the kitplane crowd with a planetary PSRU and also those wanting to repower the 3rd gen RX7 to it's original domestic specs.

The launch in the second clip was amazing.
Look on the 'net for the guy who put a turbo'd 13B into his Datsun 510 (it's yellow, tubbed, and super well-done).

I was just using the 20B as an example, and the 3rd gen came with a 20B... except in the US.Originally Posted by MZ-N10
no they didnt, they came with the 13brew, the cosmo in japan came wiht the 20b or the 13bre. the s6 jdm fd(93~98 3rd gen) had the same hp as the the american one (255). the s7(99~02 3rd gen) had a upgraded turbo which increased the hp to 280.Originally Posted by Joe_Black
side note, the e-shaft in a 20b and a 26b is totally different. ppl on the rx7forums estiamte the cost of a custom on alone will run in the 10k. a few years ago there was a boxed 26b on sale, costed bout 32k.

Has anyone ever noticed that all Japanese sporty cars have 280hp?
2JZ-GTE = 280 hp
RB26DEtt = 280 hp
VG30DEtt = 280 hp
I heard that there was a tax on vehicles that made more than a claimed 280 hp, so manufacturers would downrate their hp figures to beat the system.
Any truth to this?
EDIT:
here's that carb'd turbo 13B in the 10. www.brianf.com
i think it was a gentlemens agreement.Originally Posted by mbeach
