Yes, our VehiX can tow a boat

I get a lot of looks pulling a 26' Pursuit with the VehiX. I only use it to go fill up on fuel not long trips but, it pulls strong out of the ramp slow and easy. Backing down at low tide I go really slow because of vehix's light weight, you don't want the boat to drag you in the water 4wd helps keep good traction.

Back when I was a kid in Hawaii the family owned a boat store and we had a tug that was like a golf-cart on steroids - diesel engine, all metal, no fibre-glass at all. It's wheelbase was probably a couple of feet shorter than the VX but it had no problems hauling boats and other things around the yard and over to the harbor.

i dont have any pics but i pull a 4,000lb 23 ft bayliner cruiser all the time and get a few comments at the lake usually along the lines of "does that little thing pull that?"

Learned the hard way though that it helps to have the transfer case in 4low so it locks in 4wd, i was pulling the boat out at a steep gravel covered slip, had the parking brake on, drove the boat up onto the trailer and started winching it the last foot or so then the weight of the wet boat and trailer started to pull the VX backwards into the water!!! I dove into the car stomped on the brake pedal just in time, the water was just coming into the tailgate and doors. Very close!! then went for a drink and a change of underwear

That 4000 lbs is probably just the dry weight of your boat, not including the trailer, fuel, water, accessories, etc. I'd say you're pushing it with that boat behind the VX - be careful! The last 23' boat I had pushed the scales at 6000 lb with the trailer and gear, and it wasn't a cruiser!

    Here's a 20' boat that weights just a tad over 400lbs full-up.

Anyone in the Raleigh NC area that would like to go for a spin let me know.

I've been towing my 16'6" Speedster Jet boat for a few years with no problems Fully fueled she holds 40 gallons and a few gallons of injector oil + gear.

It pulls fine and there is ample power. Breaking is good but can be a little hairly on quick stops - it does it, but can be kind of scary at times.

    Hauling

Its no Boat but the darn thing weighed about 4500 lbs filled with all my belongings. I hauled that sucka for 22 hours from NYC to South Florida only stopping for gas. The faster I went the easier it got, not to mention better gas mileage, after a few hours I forgot it was behind me. I got reminded when I flew past other Vehicles and the passengers looked at the VX, looked at the Trailer, then at looked at me in disbelief and saying "what the ......"
