Driver side Window slanting and slowing

ok 2 questions: 1. My driver side window is slanting when closing it and slows to a crawl in really cold weather which i suspect is because of this. i remember seeing a thread here way way back about how to fix this problem and had bookmarked it but i'm using a different PC now and all my bookmarks are lost. Does anyone know what i'm talking about or know how to fix this?
2. The padding on the driver seat on the part of the seat that extends has come off and i cant for the life of me put it back. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a trick to it i'm missing? i appreciate any input at all. thanks.

Oh Yeah, and there was a post about how to buff out the headlights so they look new again. If anyone has that bookmarked and can post it here i'd be freaking thrilled!

Try silicone lubricating the tracks first with stuff yu buy at Pep Bros.Forgot the name but it works well.
If that don't help you are going to have to adjust tracks as outlined by some window experts in Vehicross Info before[look on site]

I use a car polishing compound to buff my headlights. It contains a very mild grit to clean up slight wear and tear on the plastic. I use the same thing to take scratches out of Compact Discs. Works like a charm. You can also use a stovetop cleaner. The ones intended for the newer smooth top units. It's esentially the same product with slightly more grit.

I have the same issue with the driver's side door. I'm waiting for warmer weather and I'll be taking the door panel off to see what's wrong.

...as for re-installing the thigh bolster pad... If the retaining clips are still in place then you just force it past the clip to intall again. I'm assuming since the bolster is out the clips are likely out (because they need to come out to get the bolster out) so you probably need to install those first. Let me know if you need detailed instructions for re-installing the clips.

Excuse my ignorance but i dont know much about buffing. Do i use 100% cotton towel? sandpaper? if so what number?

Yes i do need detailed instructions if it's not an inconvenience. i wasn't aware that there WAS clips.That's what i was missing ! ! !lol

and huh...ok just call me dumb but what kinda clips are we talking about? can i get it at Autozone? Home Depot... Anywhere but the dealer...i'm still waiting on the red spare tire cover knobs that ordered a year and half ago

u have to get the clips from the dealer...and u just cant buy them individually (atleast i wouldnt think so) you would have to buy the entire railing system...
from wat i remember the clips are alittle white peices of plastic which guild the window.

if theyre broken u might be able to get around with soem super glue or epoxy.....

The clips are unique. (figure 1) I don't believe you will find them other then the dealer.

Figure 2 is a view from the front of the seat looking at the mounting holes for the thigh bolster rods with the retaining clips removed.

Figure 3 shows the path to insert the right side clip and shows the clips in place. (reverse clip and path for left clip) A little patience is needed when trying to align the clip's leading tips into the two slots. The lower straight leg of the clip passes into a slot along the lower edge of the rod mounting hole. The upper wavy leg of the clip passes into a slot along the upper edge of the rod mounting hole. (see also fig. 5)

Once both clips are in place insert the rods of the thigh bolster into the rod holes using a wiggle and pressing movement until it reaches the upper notch in the rod. (figure 4)


To adjust out the length the thigh bolster extends; grip the front lower edge of the pad - lifting up - pull out towards the firewall. To adjust in the length just push the pad back towards the seat.

Instructions for buffing the headlight...

Follow the instructions on the polishing coumpound canister. It usually means using a damp (not wet) clean cloth to apply a liberal amount of compound to the plastic surface. Use a circular motion to rub the compound into the plastic. To remove deeper scratches you can apply a little more preasure when rubbing in the compound. Let it dry and then wipe off with a clean dry cloth. (you don't use a circular motion when cleaning scratches from your compact discs, though )
