The Intake gasket on the 3.5 goes every 20k or so on my 99 VX.
Has any one discovered a better gasket than OEM or sealant
to use on Gasket?
Love the VX but its built to a lower standard

Sounds like it is being overtightened when installed. They are a hard plastic core with coated metal on either side. If overtightened, they will crack and leak. Do not use sealant on them.
I know you don't have a Supercharged engine, but the link below to a previous thread still talks about the ISUZU TSB changing the torque value from 18 ft/lbs to 13 ft/lbs.

I just had mine changed last week..I gave Merlin a call,he thinks they are a improved Gasket..The shop told me to get them at any parts store..No way..Merlin sent me the gaskets and the improved oil filter also front bearing seals.They also did my fluid change(I went for dino I can't afford synthetics ) My VX runs better than new..
