    VX in a show

so I got asked to enter my VX in a campus auto show for the 'hottest ride on campus'.. my vx is more or less stock right now, changed a few light bulbs (fog lights and horn lights) and have a scan gauge coming from tone this week.. but id like to do a few more mods before the show.. cause i want that title

anybody have suggestions to quick, easy(ish) mods that will impress?.. the show is tuesday the 11th.. so i dont have much time to do them, im thinking shifters would be a good place to start

or suggestions on how to prep her for the show? (tricks to polishing, washing etc)

There is only one that makes someone say Wow again after they say Wow the first time seeing the car....that is to Supercharge it. But I imagine you are talking about something a lil less expensive.

Other than that, I really like the safari bar look with the spot lights, makes it more of a "truck" look

Best visual mode = get bigger tires like the Nitto Terra Grapplers, they are between 30 and 31 inches tall no biggie but BIG difference, you will never regret getting them, oh and for anyone saying "but oh the performance isn't as good then" if you want speed get a motor cycle, if you want a road racer get a light weight kit car, and if you want an amazing looking one of a kind ride get a VX with big ole tires on there! Or maybe that is just the Texas coming out in me......

Make sure you clean the wheel wells!!!

So many people don't do this when cleaning their car. I personally think this makes the car look like new when done.

Just get some tire shine in a spray can, walk around all four corners and spray the heck out of the entire wheel well, then go back around to all four corners and wipe up the excess.

Also, if you have rust around the rotors or any where visible, try and clean that up too

I found this on ebay and thought it would fit the VX perfect.

Well there are 2 ways to go about it.... one you could clean the hell out of it and if you choose this way you will want to make the cladding extremely nice which could take you hours.

The second way would be to find a truck with a winch and go get your VX absolutely covered in mud.... you may not win but you would have the "coolest" car in the show. Just make sure you get a spot dead center of the show so they know your muddy VX is in it.

2000 Ironman Project LS-1 VX... very slow progress but someday....... ohhhhh someday......

Aside from cleaning , you MUST clean rims & put on some gloss to your tires & cladding.... this makes the car look new & lets it stand out!. I use meguiars high endurance gloss on both cladding & tires......Good luck

I must add this since I finally broke down and tried it, and OMG its simply amazing. The clay bars that they sell in auto parts stores in the was/wax section is simply amazing. The process is very easy to do also, I can honestly say it is simply awesome for taking out the rough grit/grime for your paint. Follow it with a wax job and you have a smooth as the day it was painted surface (almost). I think the one I bought was around $10-12 and should last 2-3 applications.

...some muddy tire tracks leading across the lot and up to your truck would be awesome...

BUT, steam clean the engine and ArmorAll every nook and cranny of the engine bay. That way when the hood is up, it'll still look like you baby the VX's important bits.

You should also make a (handwritten, of course) sign declaring your VX to be 1 of 53 (I think) '01 Kaisers with Red/black interiors.
Search that number, but your truck is as rare as they come.

Detail the engine bay and pop the hood, guarantee most others wont have their car/truck hoods open, and its one more thing to look at.

But then if you want to keep the hood shut, get Toni Katan (spelling???) or some other hottie to lay on it, that will get you votes!
