    Unhappy CD Changer Error Message?

Has anybody ever get an error message code like this :errrr3"
I was listening to my CD's yesterday and all of a sudden that code came up I triedswitching to another CD and the same thing. I thought that maybe my burned cd's caused it but then I remembered that I had moved them to my add-on changer and only artist cd's where there? Any info or help is appreciated.
    Thanx

    Error message

Yes, I have received this message several times. Usually it happens when some one pushes a cd change button and I turn the V on or off. Or if you hit some harsh bumps when it is changing cd's.

I had the same thing. Stock changer is very sencitive to bumps... at some point my unit quit at all and Isuzu had replaced it. they sent me a letter along saying DO NOT play any self-made CDs or CDs from abroad (?) - yeah... right....

Now that's jacked up! I use my own CDs and go 4 wheeling while playing and have never had a problem.. Guess it's the luck of the draw.

    Error 3

I bet that almost all of the people that click this post will know exactly what your radio says before they read the first post.
The ERROR3 means you are lucky to get your cd's out, and take it to the dealer for a new cd player. We have gone through 4 cd players that say the samething every time. Isuzu "usually" sends back your cd's. (We once got back someone else's, and once never got anything back.) Nothing you do will get the cd to play again besides replacing it. Sorry....

What I have found works to get your CD's out is to hit a change CD button and then hit the side of it with a firm smack until it starts making those noises like it's working. I have already had it replaced once, but until you get it really stuck hitting the side works 95% of the time. If you have to send it in it takes like three months to get your CD's back

I too have done the slap and hit technique. When I got a cd stuck in the changer, it worked beautifully. Never had a problem since. (slap wood)

Buy a new head/ CD changer, install, then take a Louisville Slugger (wood 33 oz is ideal) and "carefully" smash the old unit. The discs can then be taken out freely. This way you will be forever removed from the junk factory unit.

Us engineering types have a techincal term for the slappin' the side method - we call that percussive maintenance.

    Unhappy

That error is the "bad" one.
When mine had been replaced and the replacement came up with the same error a year later (and out of warrantee) I decided to get the CDs out and see what the problem was.
It seemd that the CD rack positioning jack screws (3 of them) are white plastic and wear quickly. Once worn to the point where the rack does not position its self correctly, you get the error.
Mine was tilted and jammed with the jack screw gears worn and loose. It was not easy getting the CDs out but I managed.
Rather than buy another of these units, I purchased a Pioneer head unit and a poineer CDX-PD6 that fits in the same space as the Isuzu multi changer.
    VX's don't need no stinking mod's.
    But they're sure fun!

Well thanks everybody for the singhtful help but I don't think anything is gonna work cause everytime I start it up the Changer makes some really funny noises and that's while the radio is off. I decided to reconnet the Pioneer add changer back. I will be taking out the factory changer out over the weekend and see if I can get my cd's out. I called up the dealer and found out that my VX is no longer covered under the factory warrenty. Considering I just got it last year. The service guy kept telling sorry that they couldn't help me and I told him it's ok cause it's not like they knew what they were doing any way. I am glad I have you guys to fall back on if anything serious really happens to my baby. Thanx again everyone.

Damn, my wife just informed me we got this message today. With 5 cd's in the changer. Gonna have to buy a new cd changer with an ipod jack. Any recommendations????? Also, should I look into anything else to go along with the changer? Wires, etc.

Thinking about this. Don't really need a 6 disc.

Getting this installed on Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it would only cost me $50 for the install. Also, the guy said he would get my CD's out of the changer. Yay!
