    lowering?

    Hello Fellow VX'ers,

New owner of #235, Portland, Oregon.

I respectfully wish to lower this 2" minimum. This is perhaps a touchy subject since this unit is designed for off-road. But I have an off-road vehicle ('63 Ford, 4x4, 429ci, 4-speed, Power-locked front Dana 44, Dana 60 rear, had it 22 years, beat to ****, okay . . .). Anyway, the VX is just too cool to trash right now, and for my vision, setting her down some sounds good.

Torsion bar front, so no problem there, right? Anyone recommmend different rear coils? I prefer not to alter stock components; instead remove and replace.

    Experiences, recommendations?

    Thanks!

Not my cup of tea but....
Do a search. It has been discussed several times.

Front and rear will be on the bump stops, with no travel remaining if you lower it.

In the front, I think a spacer between the lower ball joint and lower armUball joint on top of arm) would be a better idea, as it would maintain travel, and front instant center height.

Sit with the VX in the garage/driveway for a while... Sip some hot green tea, breathe, and meditate with her. Can you feel how sad she will be if lowered?

asphalt pounder ?? I agree, an inch or two will help some. You could get OEMs and have them cut. Bumpstops van be shaved some. I say do it!!
