Timing Belt Replaced - Crank Pulley Question

    Hi,
I just replaced the timing belt... all good... but now trying to figure out how in the world to hold the crank pulley in place while I tighten the bolt!
    Any suggestions???

Also, does anyone know off-hand what the torque spec is for the crank pulley bolt?

    Thanks!!!

With the fan belt back on you should be able to tighten it no problem. I think the spec is 100 ftlbs but that is just off the top of my head. I posted those specs a few years back under a SC post - I've got it at home and can verify tonite.

There was a TSB put out that changed the torque specs on the intake manifold gasket to 13 lb/ft (NOT 18 lb/ft). Presumably torquing to 18 lb/ft will eventually cause the gasket to leak again.

    Tone,
    Thanks for the specs!!!
One problem... I got the belt back on, but even with a new tensioner it's not strong enough to hold the crank pulley for me to tighten it to 123 lbs... any ideas???
    Anyone? Anyone? Beuler? Beuler?

    Thanks!
