Smile 2nd pair LED brake lights

Here are the pictures of the stock reflector to LED brake light conversion I did some time ago.

Also all the parts are found on ebay very easily you will just need three items per side (light)
    -LED light http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Maxxi...2394QQtcZphoto
    -Rubber mounting grommet http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Bla...3398QQtcZphoto
    -Wiring harness http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Wir...3642QQtcZphoto

This is very easy to do the stock reflectors do have a bolt and nut holding them on but after that and a 2-1/2" hole drill it is as easy as connecting two wires to the original brake light lines.

Wow they look great. I'm gonna order me a set tonight. How much was the combined shipping? Nowadays I only use ebay sparingly cause most of the sellers try to rip you on shipping costs but this might be too good to pass up.

EDIT: Maybe we could try a group buy on this. He has all this stuff in bulk.

Excellent find, I had been looking at rear fogs, but none fit the space in the bumper. I ordered mine today.

I think if I use a diode, and hook the brake to one side, and turn signal to the other I can get this to flash for turn without backfeeding voltage to the brake lights.

Neat mod! Don't sweat the group buy, just go to your local tractor-trailer supply place and they'll have all this stuff available for the same price and often less. Commercial truck parts like lighting are amazingly inexpensive. I just bought a bunch of these 2" Maxxima LED assemblies for a 42' flatbed I just got and they were about $5 each from a local place, so all I paid was tax.

Don't get eBay blind, always check locally before buying!

If ya gotta buy online, check this place out: http://www.buytruckstuff.com/

Looks nice LittleBeast I've often thought of installing Clear led's there to aid while in Reverse. I have a night vision camera that does put out a nice glow but an extra blanket of light would be nice...

Icekold, I went back and found the order on paypal and it was only as follows:
    Subtotal: $19.96 USD
    Shipping & Handling
(includes any seller handling fees): $4.55 USD
    Shipping Insurance : --

    Total: $24.51 USD
but Joe Black is right this should all be avaliable locally for about the same price, I just didn't want to try to find a place in Houston.

Hotsauce, if you get that blinker mod to work with this let me know I would be interested in seeing how that would look.

VCrossfan, nice idea I think these items would work perfectly for what you are thinking about:

    2" white led http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Super...1351QQtcZphoto

2" white led back up kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-W...1444QQtcZphoto although you will not need the chrome plastic surrounds on this particular kit.

Very nice mod indeed. Those, combined with the regular brake lights, and Tone's flashing 3rd brake should be enough warning that your stopping eh??

u acutally dont need the extra lights if u get a low light camera. i bought the .2lux from tone a while back and its as bright as day with just the reverse lights alone.

are those reflective as well? id like to do this mod but dont want to lose the reflectors since i usually park my vx on teh street.. want to make sure people can see... is there any kind of write up on how to do it? or just kind of tie into the stock brake light wire?

    eltsport,

Did you end up finding a round LED that also acts as a reflector? This is a great idea. I want to have both...if they exist.

What did you end up using?

I'm about to do this mod and am researching now.

    Thanks
