Brake light on at startup

'99 vx (48k miles)

when i start it in the morning, the brake light comes on for a few minutes, then goes out. it stays off till i park it overnight.

it seems to only happen from a cold start.

any ideas ?

check your brake fluid.. mine was doing that and it was low...

As above check brake fluid level and that you're parking on a level surface. Also, your brake light switch may be worn or out of adjustment which could cause contact as the metal expands/contracts with overnight temperature changes.

My brake light was doing the same thing,
It was just low on fluid.
I figured it was going to be the emergency brake switch sticking.
