Thread: The "Ripsaw"

    The "Ripsaw"

For me this thing would be a close second to owning the "Tumbler" from Batman.

If I ever needed to go to my happy place I'd need this, a crate of illegal fireworks, and a bottle of vodka. Of course, about 5 minutes into my happy place I'd be arrested.

    Check out the stock footage!

Now if you were an injured cop would you want to hop on the back of that and ride right out in the open in front of the guy who shot you with a rifle?

The SWAT video was interesting but I think the recovery needs improvement. Like a stretcher mounted under the RipSaw. There's plenty of ground clearance and you would be totally protected.

Bare minimum I would have popped a couple smoke grenades to provide cover for the extraction.

    Wink

Neat garage project, seen a couple similar run around here a few years ago. For combat or real-life I'd stick with something known to get the job done like a LAV...

Or maybe even a Cadillac-Gage V100 for the budget conscious...

I already have one! One of our Stryker ICVs headed up to Dahuk (from Mosul) a few weeks ago.

You're reading WAY too much into the Ripsaw man! Fun yes-Would I drive it around the streets of Mosul getting IED'd or shot at? Heck no!

Good thing those aren't cost effect for civilian use... It would make a nice commuter. Especially when being tailgated (brake check, "oh my god, did you see that dog?")

Actually, they are. I know a guy who built one and drove it pretty regulary and had it registered as a pickup truck.

Another inexpensive and fun armored car is the Ferret series of scout cars. These are plentiful and can go in reverse as fast as forward since they use a gear reverser instead of a dedicated reverse gear. Turrets for the Ferret handle everything from LMG to light cannon.
